Riverbank Cleanup
The Riverbank Cleanup Committee of the Bryte and Broderick Community Action Group and volunteers will pick up litter and debris along the Sacramento River on Saturday morning, October 17, 2009 The group will meet at the site at 7:30am, and begin with refreshments and a brief training. Help clean up the riverbank, meet your neighbors and have fun while doing some good in your community. Registration form, contacts, and more information are available here

Grow Your Winter Garden classes
A free gardening class on September 5, 2009 will cover a variety of garden tips specific for our area and climate in the winter/spring season. See more information here

National Night Out - a Big Success!
Over 200 people attended the celebration in Bryte Park, where face painting, games, local bands, vendors and free hot dogs attracted young and old alike. The event was co-sponsored by the City of West Sacramento Police Department and B&BCAG. If you weren't there, you missed one of the favorite events when the Chief of Police, Code Enforcement Officer, City Council Member and others were targets in the dunk booth. See the photos here

Senior Transportation Summit Planned for West Sacramento
Target date for the Summit is in the fall. You are invited to the City Hall to hear about local transportation: what is available, what is planned, what are the challenges, where to find information, and how you can get involved. Representatives from transportation and transit providers, City of West Sacramento, Yolo Bus and other organizations will be included in the presentations and will be available for discussion. Watch for details and time and date on the B&BCAG website - and bring your Senior friends to this important event.

We're Becoming Official!
B&BCAG has applied for 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Articles of Incorporation have been filed with the State of California. Bylaws are currently under review for submission.

And...
One of our community members (a Den Leader and mom) is recruiting boys from first grade (Tigers) through 5th grade (WeBeLoS) in Bryte and Broderick to join her Cub Scout Pack. If you are interested, call 372-3520. The "Recruitment" Pack meeting will be Monday, September 14th- location TBA.
